Saturday Holy Trinity baseball game is Marcus Maye Foundation fundraiser

The Holy Trinity baseball team’s annual fundraising game will feature the cause of one of the school’s top graduates.

The Tigers host 1 p.m. Cocoa Beach on Saturday, and all the proceeds go to the Marcus Maye Foundation. Admission to the game is free, while food and drinks will be provided at no charge

Fans at Saturday’s game will be able to donate to the foundation, and there will be a silent auction of memorabilia donated and signed by Maye. The NFL safety will throw out the first pitch after the pregame ceremonies begin at 12:45 p.m.

The Marcus Maye Foundation, established in 2019, raises money to benefit Brevard County youth. Programs include back-to-school backpacks and school supplies, an annual free youth football camp and a Thanksgiving turkey drive.

Maye starred in football and basketball at Holy Trinity and then football for the Florida Gators. He was drafted by the New York Jets to play defensive back in 2017 and now plays for the New Orleans Saints.

“When I came to Holy Trinity I really wanted to give back to different charities,” Tigers baseball coach Tommy Kelce said of the fourth such fundraising game. “It’s always been a great game and great atmosphere to play. Every year, I meet new people who has been affected by whatever charity we are doing, and it makes me feel great knowing Holy Trinity baseball helped out.”
